Recently there have been many charged posts and discussions surrounding feminism. Basically the gist of them all being to steer clear of feminism “because Islam gives women all their rights!” However, why aren’t those issues being as arduously discussed which are making women fall for feminism in the first place? For years women have been quiet in the face of oppression. Now when they speak up, they are told their rights are all there in Islam. But is having rights enough when their is no regard and application of those right?
Some daughters are still forced married or denied a right to education. Many sisters aren’t given their due in inheritance, wives are financially, physically, spiritually, emotionally abused in their own homes. Women are made to make too many excuses for the men upholding superficial standards of modesty. But on the other hand, men go around doing anything that fulfills their desires.
How can you then blame women falling for feminism when there’s such unjust social disparity?
The fact is women are tired of being abused and oppressed with Islam as an excuse. They are tired of gaslighted arguments and twisted and skewed interpretations of texts shoved down their throats. They are so sick of it that the first chance they get, they don’t want to do anything with Islam. And why blame them when they have been continuously oppressed in the name of Islam….when it’s not Islam at all.
What’s the solution?
It’s high time men step up to uphold the justice just as Allah wanted it to be. Lecturing women to steer clear of feminism isn’t going to be enough. Men need to start holding each other accountable and remind each other about their responsibility to uphold justice. They need to actively work to dismantle the system of oppression and injustice. They need to live up to their role or risk losing our sisters to the delusional God-less Western ideologies.
As appealing as feminism seems, in the end it’s just that, a man made ideology with many inherent problems. How do we expect this problematic system to grant women rights when when many are not even given their God given rights. What people don’t realize is this system further exploits suffering of people. The only way to go is awareness and education.
The truth is, if we should be walking and protesting against anything, it should be for establishment of a just and fair society. A society where everyone recieves the rights granted by Allah. For this we need to wake up and take serious action before it’s too late.
