Remembering a conversation I had with my little Mr some years ago.
Me to little Mr: You are the best in the whole wide world!
Little Mr.: No mama I am not the best.
Me: “Why not?” (My heart almost breaking as I ask him this).
Little Mr.: Because Muhammad ﷺ
was the best man who ever lived!
Over the past few years, I have been consciously and passionately trying to make Muhammad ﷺ a central role model in our and our children’s lives.
It’s just in the little things we do every day. For example, the little ones rushing to wash their hands before starting their meals. Putting the right shoe on first and then the left. Or reciting the Muazzattain and wiping them over the body before going to sleep at night.
We have been consciously and deliberately building these habits in our lives along with our little ones. Now it’s become so ingrained in them, they won’t start their food without washing their hands first or won’t go to sleep at night without reciting sunna azkar.
It was with this vision of making Muhammad ﷺ an inseparable part of their lives that I wrote and published I Love Muhammadﷺ Board Book.
I want my children to have a firm belief in the fact that for everything in life they only need to turn back to the sunnah of Beloved Prophet ﷺ or just look it up in the Qur’an.
My conviction for this vision for my family became, even more, stronger when I was reflecting upon this ayat in Surah al-Furqan:
Then the Messenger will say: “O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur’an for just foolish nonsense.Qur’an [25:30]
Also previously in the same Surah:
Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! He did lead me astray from the Message (of Allah) after it had come to me! Ah! the Evil One is but a traitor to man!Qur’an [25:28-29]
The world around us is in a state of utter confusion and chaos. Everything happening around is screaming to go back to the truth, to go back to what’s going to matter in the end. If only we care to pay heed.
I often wonder if as an Ummah, had we not forsaken the Quran we would have been in a very different condition.
This is what drives me to do better, at least for the sake of my children.
But no matter what I say, my children won’t realize the weight of it unless they see me reciting, reflecting, and acting upon the Qur’an. They won’t see the value of it till they see me loving the Prophet ﷺ in how I follow his sunnah.
It is with this in mind I created a resource incorporating several ahadith and sunnah of Muhammad. It was basically an extension of the I Love Muhammadﷺ Board Book. The purpose of it was to learn and apply it all in our life together as a family.
It’s a downloadable and printable file for now consisting of 31 sunnah prompts that you can do each day, any month, any time of the year.
Each prompt is cited with authentic Ahadith to help in starting a conversation and discussion with your family.
The aim of it all is to make the Prophet ﷺ real for our children so they would love to connect with him better and love him better ♡.
I have worked hard to put this together. But no effort is too big for the vision I carry for our children, mine and yours and all the children of this ummah.
